Website Creation Prep Checklist
Updated: Dec 9, 2021
Whether you are building your own site, or hiring us to design it for you, here are some things you should consider before getting started.

Basics:
Consider your budget, timeline and goals for the website.
Examples of goals for your website:
Create brand awareness
Generate sales
Provide customer support
Create an intranet for your employees to streamline processes
Allow candidates to apply for a job
Brand Standards:
Gather together a high resolution logo file, your brand colors and font names. If you already have social media accounts, include links to those as well.
Website Content:
Decide what pages your website needs, and which pages should show in the navigation bar. What content (copy and photos) do you want on each page? Do you need to create any content? Do you need any forms on your site? If you are selling products, please have photos and descriptions ready.
Features and Functionality:
Do you need a membership area, ability to accept payments, or schedule appointments?
Other things:
Does your site need a side bar? An Opt In form? Affiliate links? Social Media Feed? What do you want in your footer?
Domain Name and Hosting:
If you already have this set up, that’s great! Make sure you have the user name and password to your domain name registrar handy so we can connect everything once it’s ready to go live.
If you do not already have this, don’t worry! We will provide options for you to use.
In the meantime, think about what you would prefer your URL to be and check to see if it is available.
The more information you have ready to go will keep the process organized and efficient.
